Livelihood Project

VISION.

The civil war has left many widows to support their families. Centre for Child Development, our partner charity, began the "Livelihood Project" to help these women.

WHAT WE DID.

This project comprised of aiding single women to generate income to support their families. We believed that it was of uttermost importance to ensure that they have the means to support themselves.

In 2015, we assisted 18 families headed by single mothers by donating each family an initial 60,000 rupees to start self-employment, so that they can eventually become independent.

Child First (UK) will continue to monitor the progress of these families with the help of our partners in Sri Lanka, until such families have become stable and self-sufficient, and will hope to expand to helping out more families in need.

WHERE IT IS BASED.
